The Cessna A-37 Dragonfly was a US Army light twin-engine attack aircraft that served from 1963 to 1992. 577 were produced. It was used in combat mainly during the Vietnam War. It was created as a response to the US military s demand for a COIN plane - a plane that fights enemy partisan units. The A-37 was powered by two General Eletric J85-GE-17A engines. A characteristic feature of the aircraft was the arrangement of the crew seats next to each other unusual for this class of machines. One of the greatest advantages of the A-37 in relation to the type of missions performed was undoubtedly the ability to operate from very short provisionally prepared field runways. Since December 1994 the A-37 has also been in the service of the South Korean air acrobatics unit - Black Eagles. Technical data: Top speed: 816 km / h; climb speed 35.5 m / s practical ceiling 12 730 m maximum range: 1 480 km armament: fixed - 1 km GAU2B / A caliber 7.62 mm suspended - up to 1230 kg.
